Ben Sharp

Sr. Director, Global Innovation and Fintech Engagement, Visa Inc.

Ben Sharp is Senior Director for Global Innovation and Fintech Strategy at Visa, where he leads various global thought leadership initiatives. This includes Visa’s Global Commerce Unbound initiative, a global consumer study that focuses on the future of commerce and payments, and Visa’s Everywhere Initiative, the leading global open innovation program that connects Visa with the start-up community to solve the payment challenges of tomorrow.

Prior to joining Visa, Ben spent almost a decade as an entrepreneur, launching both an ed-tech software company and a luxury wine company that he sold to Kendall Jackson Wines in 2014. Ben started his career in financial services at Merrill Lynch, and held senior strategy roles at Salomon Smith Barney and Charles Schwab.

He has spent a diverse and accomplished career working in both global and start-up environments, passionately focused on building empowered teams at the intersection of innovation and consumer technology.        

Ben holds a B.A. from Duke University and an M.B.A. from UCLA’s Anderson Graduate School of Management. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and two daughters. And when not at work or with his family, he can often be found exploring the back roads of Marin and Sonoma on his bike.
